Comments:
Very good condition. Good margins. Printed on gray laid paper - probably a partial sheet of charcoal drawing paper. Information on Gill is not bountiful, however he is mentioned in a Cass City, Michigan, newspaper dated January 24, 1936. He is referenced as teaching art extension courses and is referred to as Professor Gill. In 1939 he was made the head of the "Fine Arts Department," at Eastern Michigan University (then Michigan State Normal College), in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The depiction of the saguaro, and its association with the Lower Sonoran Desert, would seem to indicate that Gill visited Arizona by at least 1931.
