Comments:
Very good condition. Painted on card sock, two small glue spots from previous matting on the lower left and bottom left edge - well under current archival matting. Commonly referenced as Tomas Vigil, the Tesuque Pueblo, New Mexico, artist, as in this case often signed his paintings Thomas Vigil. As an example see the Vigil watercolor that is illustrated in Indian Painters & White Patrons by J. J. Brody (1971:99) it compares favorably in style, color, subject matter (the Eagle Dancer) and signature - it is also signed Thomas Vigil - Tesuque. Vigil's Pueblo name was Pan Yo Pin.
