Comments:
Very good condition. Good margins. Printed on cream BFK Rives wove paper. Printed by LeBlanc in Paris while Stroh was studying with Johnny Friedlander in France. Earl Stroh would eventually become one the most influential members of the New Mexico Taos Modernist School. Briefly discussed and illustrated in Clinton Adams book Printmaking in New Mexico (1991: 87, 88). This print was purchased directly from the artist in 1989 who stated at that time that shortly after this print was pulled he began to completely expel all realism from his work and began to work in a more pure form of abstraction.
